The days are longer and the humidity St. Louis is known for cannot be ignored. Summer has arrived. There is fun in the sun, traveling and lots of other things to do while the weather permits.
Summertime comes fast and furious and ends without regard for everyone that will miss it. Is it this all encompassing yet temporary state of mind that allows us to be much more open to love? Phrases such as summer fling and summer love, lead us to believe that there is something about the summertime that allows us to throw caution to the wind and take a chance.
Romance may come easier in the summer, but it isn’t any less confusing. There is still the question of where is this going? So don’t think that the casualness of summer love is implied. You should be upfront if you are just looking for a playmate for the summer months..jpg)
Summertime is a chance to meet new and exciting people that are looking to have fun. But what do you do when you have met your summer fling? You hang out together and have fun but things could start to get pretty expensive. With gas prices soaring you have to be careful how much money you spend on having a good time.
The thing I love the most in St. Louis is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a great time during the summer. There is Twilight Tuesdays, Shakespeare in the Park and the concerts at the Botanical Gardens that are all free. You bring your lawn chairs, blankets, wine and snacks and you have an instant romantic evening or quality time with friends. There are also events like the Taste of Clayton or the Taste of the Central West End that offer variety to your single social life.
Your date, friend or summer fling will really enjoy doing something that incorporates the warm weather. We spend all winter trying to stay warm. When the sun comes out we should take full advantage of it. And what better city to do it in than St. Louis?
Some of us are our busiest during the summer but it is beneficial to tmake the time to truly enjoy the beauty that is St. Louis. Forest Park and the Botanical Gardens give you the opportunity to be creative. Instead of taking your summer crush to a restaurant that she has probably already been to with someone else, why not fix a picnic, take some candles, and don’t forget the bug spray, to the park and show just how romantic you really are?
Summer means a fresh start, beauty and the opportunity to get creative. So St. Louis singles let’s warm up our social lives with a little outdoor fun.
