Mod-inspired frames are back (AP Photo/Nelson Antoine)

From over sized to cat-eyed, sunglasses come in every face-flattering shape and are essential for protecting your eyes from damaging UV rays.

Lady Gaga is wearing circular-frames glasses like the ones by UO Skyline Sunglasses. The Olsen twins, known for their fashion forward choices, brought Ray-Ban Wayfarers back into the forefront. When going for this still hot trend consider bright, bi-colors.

Over sized frames get a face-lift with unique colors like the Hornet by Rock & Republic or Tom Ford's Whitney in green and brown. If colored large frames are too overwhelming, then go for the classic black bug-eyes and emulate Jackie O's timeless style.

Aviator shades add a luxurious touch to any wardrobe and this season the biggest designers, such as D&G Dolce and Gabbana, offer their take this jet-set staple. But if you don't want to break the bank, try the Iberia Metal Aviators from Liz Claiborne.

Hollywood starletts are bringing back the distinctive speckled brown and black pattern of Tortoise and Havana colored sunglasses. The Tortoise round Wayfarers by Cheap Monday has an attractive brown speckle look and trendy shape.

Let's not forget the ultra-sporty wrap around. Victoria Beckham won't be caught dead without her wrap arounds that frame her delicate face. Although this frame shape can be masculine, look for shades with feminine embellishments like a gradient lense. The tortoise shades by Adi Designs a wrap around perfectly for the female visage.
