Knitwear from the AAU graduate show, photo: Philip Washington

This past week, audiences wiggled, nudged, and smushed their way into the Academy of Art University's Morgan Auditorium to see the school's spring 2009 graduate fashion show.  Notable guests, including former mayor Willie Brown and honored speaker David Downton, were front row at the fashion spectacular which featured the school's top graduating designers in the fields of menswear, womens wear, and knitwear.  The music thumped as models paraded down the runway in intricately detailed duds befitting the beautiful converted cathedral where the show took place.

The wide collection of distinct styles gave the viewer the overall feeling of watching a series of fashion vignettes, each carefully crafted to tell the designer's sartorial story.  With so many designs to choose from, I could go on for hours...

To read more about the collections in detail, peep on over this way.  You can also see a video of the show and judge for yourself over here.
