Tommy “the matchmaker” Curtis has spent over 30 years helping men and women connect with his fabulous “on the spot” matchmaking. He is the best PR singles have ever had watching cupid strike when singles socialize on holidays from Halloween to New Years Eve to Valentine’s Day. He gave us great reasons why singles should go out this Valentine's Day in part 1

“It used to be if you didn’t have a date – you offered to babysit your neighbors kids because singles stayed home on a “couples” holiday – but those days are long gone,” says Tommy the matchmaker. The former Hollywood movie producer is now based in metropolitan Washington, DC area and has had a hand in hundreds of engagements and marriages through his Cupid-style instinct set-ups. “Love can’t strike with one hand on the remote and the other in a bag of chips so get out there and find the love of your life!”

Now that you are up and off the couch, Tommy the matchmaker offers these Do’s & Don’ts for going out single on Valentine’s Day to make it the best night out ever.

Do celebrate being single by going out on Valentine’s Day as a single. Resist accepting a date with old “beetle-breath” – there is no fun, dignity or status going out on Valentine’s with an unappealing bore.

Don’t go to any place that gives a lovely rose to the lady – that is code for   “couples” and not for you.

Don’t choose a place that advertises a special menu – that is code for “couples” and not for you

Do eat before leaving the house and not at the place. You are out single on Saturday night Valentine’s Day to meet someone and you don’t want a piece of spinach ruining your smile. Remember you want to be meetin’ not eatin’.

Do go to a large dance club, ballroom, or generous size bar that is circular allowing for lots of movement. Remember you want to find your Mr. or Mrs. Right and quickly get away from Mr. or Mrs. Wrong.

Don’t over think the ice-breaker -- at introduction a simple “Happy Valentine’s Day” is all you will need!
