...so sayeth ABC.
  (PilotList.com)

It was to be the publicity stunt of the fall, a marketing ploy sent from the heavens. Literally.

But cooler heads prevailed, and there will be no skywriting campaign to promote the upcoming ABC series V.

The original idea, set to begin last Friday, was to have airplanes blitz the skies above 26 U.S. landmarks, leaving a giant smoky 'V's in their wake. Fenway Park, Independence Hall, and the Space Needle were among the 'targets'.

Mmmmm.. that's hot.

Whether the powers that be saw the errors of their ways on their own, or whether they caught wind of Lisa de Moraes' column in the Washington Post last week, we may never know. The Live Feed is reporting that America's skies are safe again.

Until next Tuesday anyway.

That's when the visitors come.

At 8/7C.
