Nat Young won last year's Cold Water Classic at Steamer Lane. But the Santa Cruz surfer didn't get by his first round on Tuesday, as the contest ran through the balance of the round of 128 heats. After that, they started the round of 96 heats, completing all 24.
Today
For Wednesday, conditions call for somewhat smaller surf. Waves will be chest high at best as the northwest swell slowly backs down.
