Atlanta Underground Club Sceners have been waiting with bated breath, but it has been announced:  Phobia is returning from a brief hiatus.  The normally monthly event was cancelled in April and has been scheduled to return May 1.

Phobia is a popular fetish party that is hosted every first Friday of the month at the Spring4th center.  Whether it is the unique performances, the relaxed atmosphere, or the fact that it is a BYOB party, Phobia never fails to draw in a crowd.  Unlike other events that have been postponed indefinitely due to lack of attendance, or funds, Phobia seems to be as strong as ever.

The reason for the hiatus is largely due to some indecision on the part of the owners of Spring4th.  They have been toying with the idea of turning Spring4th into a full bar, which would no longer allow events to permit their guests to bring in their own bottles, or the event producers to hire their own bartenders.  Agoraphobia Productions, the company that puts on Phobia every month, wanted to keep the event BYOB because they know that is one of the big draws of the event.  While the owners of Spring 4th debated, Agoraphobia Productions waited, and Phobia was put on hold.

According to Agoraphobia Productions' Myspace page, they are planning on returning May 1, but where the event will be held has yet been announced.  Apparently that tough decision is still being made.  The event producers want to find another event center that will allow BYOB.  If they can't, they will try to find another spot that is large enough to fit all of the guests, a stage for performers, and of course, will allow this specific type of event.

With May 1 quickly approaching, we can only hope that either Spring4th allows Phobia to continue as is, or Agoraphobia Productions finds a new venue.  Be sure to stay tuned for updates!  I'll post them as they come.

Retraction:  I apologize for not doing more research on this matter.  I did have sources, but they proved to be inaccurate ones.  The truth is that the owners had been trying for two years to get their liquour license approved.
