After online stalking a lot of different Seattle area Etsy sellers, I’ve come to the conclusion that I reside in very talented city. Kristin Friesen’s jewelry line Sweeter Than Me is exactly what I’ve been looking for – none of that Forever 21 trend of the moment, super chunky stuff, but rather, delicate designs that are perfect for any occasion. The jewelry is ladylike, but not old fashioned.

I own two Sweeter Than Me pieces – a dainty peridot dragonfly necklace, and a cranberry ring. The ring is cute online, but absolutely beautiful in person. Currently I have my eye on the Jessie post earring trio and the Rachel bobby pin trio, which can be viewed in the slideshow below.

Everything is made in limited quantities and comes in a fancy box. I really appreciate the packaging because like other lazy college students, I have a bad habit of simply throwing jewelry on my desk and losing it. The box is pretty enough to keep displayed on a vanity. Sweeter Than Me jewelry also makes a great gift because it’s already wrapped and isn’t mass produced for brick and mortar stores!

Here is my interview with Sweeter Than Me’s owner, Kristin Friesen.

“I am 23, married to a wonderful man named Justin and together we have a 2 year old son named Jack. I am a full time work at home mom. I run my shop from my home office while juggling cooking; cleaning, running errands, and entertaining a very active toddler (forget maintaining a social life). I also blog daily. Everything about my "job" is self-taught. I have never taken a jewelry making class, I am not a professional writer, and I certainly haven't had any formal training in motherhood. My jewelry is my way of sharing and expressing myself and I truly love what I do. I get to be creative, be my own boss, and spend time with my family. What more could I ask for?

My jewelry incorporates vintage and nature inspired components, simple designs, and bold colors. I feel that jewelry should be effortless, something you can just grab and throw on without agonizing over just the right piece to wear. The items in my shop are all pieces that I would want to wear myself. I don't get dressed up often, so when I wear jewelry I like to really POP. I love subtle accents that pack a punch of bright color or sparkle. I'm having a little love affair with vintage rhinestones at the moment, which is how my vintage glam collection was born. Lucky for me, they can be found in nearly every shape, size, and color. I want them all!”
