Scottsdale Az--- Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane took to the runway early Thursday evening, looking oddly out of place in a jacket and tie standing in front of three male models who wore nothing but cargo pants and paint as he issued a proclamation declaring Scottsdale Fashion Week (SFW) in full swing.
Lane commended the hard work of those who helped make SWF possible for the fourth time in as many years.
“2009 marks the fourth year that Scottsdale Fashion Week, that has earned national attention from fashion enthusiasts, as an exciting event that brings a mix of fashion and entertainment for residents and tourists to enjoy,” said Lane.
Jim Scott, operating manager for SFW, followed up Lane’s proclamation with praise of Scottsdale’s support for what has become one of Scottsdale’s most popular attractions.
“For those of you who have not got their tickets for Friday and Saturday’s shows,” Scott said jokingly, “How dare you,” adding that without the continued support from residents and tourists the SFW would not survive.

The night kicked off with designer Deborah Paswaters’ ‘Living Sculpture’ fashion show, as models strutted out onto the runway and froze in iconic poses as Paswater began painting them under the steady barrage of photographer’s flash bulbs.
