The first minor frost hit the Chicago area with last nights drop in temperature. This made place for some interesting photograhs to capture the beginning of cold Autumn weather around the yard. No pumpkins in this garden but the frost laced strawberry leaves were happy to put on a show in the early morning cold.
A thin layer of ice marks the start of cold weather to come. Last night's frost was a light one. Yesterday's rainy weather probably helped keep the frost to a minimum. Some will rejoice at the change in climate while others baulk at the thought of what is sure to get worse as the season progresses. One thing for certain is that Mother Nature will have her way no matter what we individually prefer when counting on the climate. Chicago is known for it's cold and here it begins.
No reason not to enjoy the photography and if cold is not what makes your world go round there is something to look forward to as the cold weather season pushes forward. Spring is just a couple seasons away. So for now enjoy the last of the warmth while you can. Enjoy the frosty photographs and blame it all on Mother Nature.
