What could be better for your health and your pocketbook than free events planned with wellness in mind? While it is possible to enjoy vibrant health by doing smart things on your own, like eating right, getting enough exercise and learning how to relax and focus on the good aspects of life, it often helps to join with others in beneficial recreational and educational activities.
Here are four free healthful events to check out right here in Sonoma County. Two will take place on Oct. 17; one is slated for Oct. 23, and the fourth will occur on Oct. 29:
October Wellness Fair: On Sat., Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 90 local alternative health practitioners are joining together for a day of healing and progressive community. The event will take place at the Masonic Lodge, 373 N. Main St. (across from Safeway) in downtown Sebastopol.
Spring Lake Bird Walk: This nature walk is planned for Sat. Oct. 17 from 8 a.m to noon. Enter from Summerfield Road, and meet in the parking lot at the top of the hill near the restrooms. This is at Howarth Park, 630 Summerfield Road in Santa Rosa.
Lose the Blues: This is a free tele-community lecture from 1 to 2 p.m. on Fri. Oct. 23. You’ll learn about specific foods, nutrients and herbs that can enhance energy, stabilize mood and clear a cloudy mind. Call 1-712-432-3100 and enter code 611488.
Stress management seminar: Led by Laurie Stolmaker, MA, MFT, this program is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 29 at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa.
