As noted in several of my previous articles, today I would like to extend my gratitude for the multitude of assistance the greater Salt Lake community provided to ensure that No More Homeless Pets in Utah was able to make the most of the 14th annual "Strut your Mutt" charity event.
They received a wide array of support from various corporate sponsors, including: Zion's Bank, Questar, Comcast and Petco, as well as many local businesses, such as: Cruzin' for a Groomin', Advanced Veterinary Care and Brickyard Kennels.
Also invaluable to the success of such an event is the "Strut your Mutt" committee; comprised almost exclusively of volunteers who've worked tirelessly with No More Homeless Pets in Utah to make this event successful year after year. These ladies and gentlemen are the local heroes who so generously strive to end the plight of thousands of formerly abandoned animals in Utah.
And last, but certainly not least, is the list of more than 200 names of those who volunteered for the day; giving anywhere between three and seven hours of their Saturday to help set up, verify admission, provide water for the dogs who walked, and guarantee the park was tidy before, during, and after the event.
I would like to personally thank everyone who was involved in this worthwhile cause; as a participant, donor, sponsor, committe member, or volunteer. As an animal rights advocate and animal lover, I find it very inspiring to know that there are so many citizens capable of opening their hearts for such a compassionate endeavor.
