Definition of Plyometrics: Yowsa! God help me! Extreme to the power of INTENSE!

Plyometrics are basically varied jumping exercises like jump squat, run-stance squat, airborne Heisman, swing kick, squat reach jump, leapfrog squat, twist combo, double airborne, circle run, rock star hop, gap jump, squat jack, jump knee tuck, Mary Katherine lunge, military march, and run squat 180 jump switch.

Power 90 X Plyometrics,
starring the ever entertaining and motivating Tony Horton, is a 60 minute routine of the above jumping exercises structured so you keep variation, intensity, and speed at the utmost. And you sweat like a pig in the noon day Arizona sun.

The warm up alone made me sweat more than most regular exercise videos. Like Tony Horton says, "This ain't your Mama's workout video." Although mini breaks of 30 seconds and water breaks of 60 seconds are included, the first time I did this workout I don't think I'd have been able to  complete it at one stretch if my husband hadn't come home early and distracted me for 15 minutes. I redid most of the warm up and stretching, (extremely important in high impact aerobics) then completed the workout. Afterwards I was exhausted. Flat out taxed to the max.

Power 90X is generally recommended for people with at least an intermediate fitness level, but modifications can be made to accomodate all fitness levels. Because of my physical challenges, mild cerebral palsy and arthritis, I had to modify some moves. I did most on our oversized trampoline with a balance bar to protect my joints, (which also helped with the lift on jumps), and to maintain correct form and keep from falling. I definitely improved my jumps. Man this workout ain't for sissies.

All of the Power 90X system, which includes 12 workouts, is designed for in home use. And it's affordable at three payments of
$39.95 plus shipping. You only need a set of free weights or resistance cords that challenge you, a pull up bar (available through BeachBody.com), and a space of a minimum of 4 x 5 feet in front of your television. Oh, and you might want to bring your best mental game. Toughness required because this is going to hurt. This morning - the morning after -I had trouble getting out of bed. Owww. Ow. Ow. Ow. But I'm still high from the endorphins and sense of accomplishment.

One of the guys in this video has an artificial leg. Tony Horton said to the audience - you - "What's your excuse?"

So, what is your excuse? Visit Beachbody coach Carol's website.
