I guess I’m not the only one who has questioned whether Kobe Bryant is truly the best player in the world.
According to The Associated Press, Miami Heat president Pat Riley thinks Dwyane Wade, not LeBron James or Kobe, was in fact the “greatest player in the world” after his 27-point performance in the gold medal win over Spain.
"In my humble opinion — and I am not biased, I am knowledgeable — he was the greatest player in the world," Riley said. "We are so delighted, so proud, so happy for Dwyane."
Riley is clearly biased, but he might have a point. Wade was the best all-around player for the U.S. during the Beijing Games, leading the team in scoring at 16 ppg and shooting 67 percent from the floor.
But is he really the best player in the world (he is the only one of the three with an NBA Finals MVP)?
I’ll let the Lakers, Heat and Cavaliers fans battle it out over that one in the comments section below.
