Carolina Panthers wide receiver and father of six children, including two adopted from Ethiopia, Muhsin Muhammad will be joining with guests to celebrate adoption in a fundraising dinner to benefit Weaving Families, a nonprofit adoption ministry located in Matthews, NC. The dinner will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 7-10pm at Byron's South End in Charlotte. Tickets are $50 per person and are limited to the first 200 people.
During the evening the Muhammads will share about their journey adopting two children from Ethiopia. Muhsin and Christa Muhammad already had 4 biological children when they began considering adoption in 2006. After careful research, the family decided on adopting from Ethiopia because of its culture and family structure. They soon found the adoption agency, All God's Children, to be the right fit, and began the process.
When they completed their adoption, they added two beautiful siblings to their family - an eight year-old little girl, Journey, and her five year-old brother, Maddon. The Muhammads chose to adopt older children, as they knew it can sometimes be more difficult for these children to be adopted. They wanted to give these children a chance too and felt it was the right decision for their family.
