Balance
In Order For A Larger System To Be In Balance As A Whole, Each Smaller System Within It Must Itself Be Balanced. This Principle Is The Same At Each Level Of Complexity.
(Author Unknown)

What Is Balance?

Balance, in any system, is achieved by increasing everything that is deficient and by decreasing everything that is excessive. This basic principle applies no matter how complex the system or how simple the system.

No matter where you are, no matter what you are doing, you are part of one or more systems. In order to harmonize yourself with these systems, it is necessary for you to constantly strive to achieve balance within each of its smaller subsystems.

An Example

For example, look at an automobile. In order for an automobile to operate at peak efficiency, each of its smaller subsystems must also be balanced so that they will operate at their own peak efficiency. The tires must have the right amount of air. The battery must be fully charged. The radiator must be full of coolant. The list goes on and on.

It Applies Anywhere

This basic principle can be applied to all systems; no matter how large or small; no matter how complex or simple.

2) Now, as you examine these areas, list everything on that same piece of paper that you believe might be deficient.

3) Now list everything you can think of in these areas that might be excessive.

4) Now list some things you CAN do and are WILLING to do to increase that which you listed is deficient.

5) Now list some things you CAN do and are WILLING to do to decrease that which you listed as excessive.

6) Lastly, list some examples of how you and others around you might benefit if you took the steps you just listed.

That's it! A 6 step process for you to help bring balance into your life and your career.
