What comes to mind when you see a title like "Little *ucker"?  I think you know.  Yes, I do believe it's missing a letter.  In this review, I simply can't say enough positive things....I just loved it, and I don't say that quite to this degree on my reviews.  It's my kind of entertainment!  This is a movie that you definitely don't want to pass up, but will rather want to pass something else around amongst your friends, as you watch it, not that I advocate anything illegal. Targetted at an audience that loves creature flicks, buddy flicks, and likes to party, or at leasts dreams of it...this truly is the ultimate stoners flick, so far.  I couldn't believe what I was watching, to be quite honest.  I also didn't know what to expect.   Whether you are a party animal or not, this is a well done and fun flick worth having to show off.  I have watched it 3 times before writing this review, and my wife is now annoyed at me for quoting the lines.

Typically, I review indie films.  I'm only guessing this movie is independently done. What I mean by this is that the production quality is really good, and this is coming from a jealous filmmaker, so I wonder if a small studio funded it or similar.  The subject matter  and cast would likely classify this as a "B" movie.  I know Michael Muscal, the director, has a few notable credits to his name, but I'm going just by the movie here.  I'm envious of some of the shots they got. They made the creature, the chicks, and overall tone look good and flow like any direct to home video flick that you actually cherished your experience watching.  Irregardless if it's an official B movie or indie, this is an achievement that all indies should strive towards, in order to stay with the times.  Again, I watched it 3 times, and feel ashamed in a "guilty puppy got food off the table" kind of way.

Okay, what's the movie about? Here's just a few basics. A rare violent creature that is only calmed by quality weed escapes and ends up befriending 2 roommate buds, who happen to smoke bud. This creature is kind of like a cross between Leprauchan, Troll, and Critters. He likes to party with a *hit eating grin and have sex with human females. Awesome! In the end, a decent sized party in a decent sized building lends itself to antics and violence stemming from different angles. Let's just say that the ending is rather amusing, despite some predictability if you were sober. Again, this is maximized for stoners and while consuming alcohol, so you may be surprised by a good amount of things.

The movie's pacing is partially laid back, which should keep those partaking amused indefinitely. Watching it sober will be quite entertaining with it's smooth/ good editing and pacing, leaving only the more serious scenes to feel slightly slower, due to contrast from the earlier lighthearted insanity. There's very good reason for this...because nothing changes the fact that you feel this creature could attack our main guys at the drop of a dime, which is a matter of time. It's pure antici----pation having a creature you know can go crazy at a moment's notice.

Acting is above most average indie, going right into solid B fare. I'm assuming the cast have all been in a production or two before. Mark Ellis and Maxx Maulion are both very entertaining, and pull off a decent buddy buddy relationship only rivalled by those in Half Baked. Their girlfriends in this, played by Ariel Toombs and T.J. Meyers, do great jobs.  I'd have to say that T.J. just pulled me right in with her seductive moves, not that Ariel wasn't hot in her own right. T.J. has a way in how she amplifies seduction on top of being good looking, but also adds comedic edge.  Guy Note:  All the chicks in this movie are fine! Little *ucker, the creature, was played humorously by Jon Overgauw. It must have gotten hot in that outfit, especially with all the smoking going on, not saying that it was weed, as it was likely tobacco, ahem.  I love the arm swings and movements Jon did with the creature, especially on the basketball court.  Every movie like this has a jerk that deserves to be slaughtered, like the tough guys in Karate Kid, and this one does it even more justice than other flicks.  You'll love what happens to the jerk.  You'll be surprised at who you root for throughout this flick.  It's all just sooo very wrong!

Music and score was above average and blended in with the editing quite nicely. The cinematography was cinematic, not epic-like, but standard solid movie. Obviously from what I written thus far, the direction was obviously good. I'd have to say that my only gripe was how the over-the-top blood baths weren't a bit longer and redder, which I understand mpaa ratings frown on that stuff. It's still hilarious, like paying tribute to Sam Raimi or Peter Jackson. Yes, this movie has plenty of gore in it, and the creature makeup is pretty cool, especially since it's practically done, not by way of computer. There is one computer trick I did catch, which is so ridiculous that you have to love it, as it bounces forever into your life. The face of the creature actually seems to have animatronics in it, which is rare these days, and expensive if I recall. A lot of the other gore effects were very over the top gross....just they way I like em in any campy horror flick!  One deals with facing off against a man with a shotgun.

It has to be said....I liked it better than that Killer Bong movie by Full Moon, entertainment-wise. Considering Full Moon films have been solid B movies throughout a many years, I think that Muscal did quite well with a story that even ends better than most of them. I wouldn't be surprised if Full Moon acquired it under their banner, to up their offerings. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised, and will buy myself a copy to add to my collection and show off to friends. After seeing it, you will too!

Best, Kenny
