Most Americans see the acronym WNBA and think basketball. Bookseller that I am, when I see WNBA, I think "Women's National Book Association."
Seattle's chapter of the Women's National Book Association was formed in 2008, so this is the second year that Seattle is participating in the WNBA celebration of National Reading Group Month in October.
I know that the Seattle chapter of the Women's National Book Association is putting together a complete list of Seattle area events for National Reading Group Month 2009, but I have yet to find it online. For now, there is information about the chapter's big event on October 21 at 6:30 at Third Place Books available at the National Reading Group Month site. In my role as event coordinator at Queen Anne Books, I am starting the festivities a day early as my store welcomes Selden Edwards, author of The Little Book, for a reading, signing and reception on Wednesday September 30 at 6:30.
All are welcome to the National Reading Group Month events-- you don't have to be a part of a book club to join in the literary fun.
