If you are looking to spay or neuter your cat, but don't want to pay high vet fees, there is a more affordable option available from Broward County Animal Services.
The almost-free spay and neuter program is called S.P.O.T., and it offers residents up to four vouchers for $10 spay or neuter procedures per household. This goal of the program is to help reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies by providing a budget price for individuals who couldn't otherwise afford the procedures for their pets.
Eligibility is based on family size and household income (however, a good source says she's never heard of anyone being turned down, regardless of income), and you must first fill out this form to qualify.
Once you are approved, you will receive four $10 spay/neuter vouchers by mail, which are good at any of 20 participating local veterinary clinics.
