1) The New York Jets have lost 4 of their last 5 games and are struggling to find not only their identity, but a way to win games. So what does coach Rex Ryan do? Gives the team 6 days off during their bye week to "re-charge" themselves. While some may say that this is not a big deal, losing is losing regardless of how you do it. This should not be a time to reward players, but one to bury heads in playbooks and get the entire organization on the same page. Could you imagine a coach like Bill Parcells doing this? I understand Rex is a players coach and the team loves to play for him, but at some point crack the whip and make it known that losing will not be tolerated.
2) With the Jets finding new ways to lose, Rex Ryan is starting to receive some heavy criticism regarding his brash approach, his game management philosophies, as well as his personnel decisions. It will be interesting to see how Rex handles the criticism, as some of his mistakes are alarming even for a rookie head coach. If Ryan's Monday press conference is any indicator, he is sticking to his guns and his attitude. Good luck with this approach Rex, this is the New York market and the Jets fan base is already starting to grumble about the actions not backing up your team's words.
3) The Pro-Bowl balloting has begun and at this point Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold, Thomas Jones and David Harris should all be solid bets to make the team. Cast your vote here for your favorite players.
4) Tickets for the 2010 season in the New Jets stadium are now available to the general public. For more information click here.
