I thought I'd share this semi-humorous item I ran across while doing my weekly reading on the opponent.
From Vic Ketchman's column on jaguars.com:
Justin from Jacksonville writes:
"Why don’t the Jags do a “Battle Teal” day? I say we have a “Battle Teal” day when we face off against the Titans on Oct. 4."
Vic answers:
" I say save it for Dec. 6 against the Texans. I’m tired of this “Battle Red” stuff. I’m tired of the Texans disrespecting the Jaguars. It’s time to hit them with “Battle Teal” the next time they play in Jacksonville. As Buford said, “There’ll be the devil to pay.”
I'm guessing Vic was joking, but I'm a little worried about Justin.
For the record, the Texans are 7-2 all-time while wearing their reds, according to a Texans media release. That includes a 4-1 record against Jacksonville. The Texans have also worn red against Carolina, Indianapolis, Tennessee, and Denver. Houston is 4-0 under head coach Gary Kubiak when wearing red jerseys.
There is only one official 'Battle Red Day' per season even though the Texans have utilized the alternate uniform policy and have worn them twice in each of three different seasons - four if you include this season since they will wear the ketchup bottles again against Tennessee on Monday Night Football in late November.
