The Texans have had their share of injuries since training camp opened and several players are in various stages of recovery.

Troy Nolan was placed on waived injured status Monday to make room for Khary Campbell, a special teams standout who played for the Redskins last season.  Campbell will help fill a special teams void left by Boomer Grigsby who is out for up to six weeks.

I've compiled a current injury status for the Texans, based primarily on head coach Gary Kubiak's comments to the media over the past several days (transcriptions by houstontexans.com media products).  While it may not be 100% accurate, it's pretty close.

The good news on the injuries is that with the exception of Reeves, the starters are all scheduled to be back in action by the regular season opener.

Nolan was a long shot to make the 53 as was Grigsby, who is involved in a four way long-snapper/fullback/tight end roster decision situation with James Casey, Joel Dreessen, and Clark Harris.   Harris is the odd man out if Dreessen or Casey can handle the long snaps.  Kubiak likes his fullbacks and that could also save a roster spot for Grigsby, unless Casey does such a great job at backup fullback during the next three weeks that he becomes Vonta Leach's backup in addition to his tight end duty.  What a value in the 5th round.

Now the trick will be to get through three more preseason games without further serious injury.

Roster moves

The Texans are in the process of re-signing Alex Brink to take over third team reps from Grossman.   One more player will need to be released to make room for Brink.  Will it be Grossman?  It could be Stanley McClover (pure speculation).
