Another Monday Night Party?
It seems like we were just there. Who said the Texans get no respect?
I know, it's only preseason but it's a good way to make the pre-season less boring.
Plus, it's a great substitute for the Cowboys - and it's against the Sage Rosenfels led Vikings no less. What a deal.
The third game of the preseason is the one where the starters typically play into the third quarter so this will be a good test for Frank Bush's new run defense against one of the better rushing attacks in the league.
It will also give Texans fans an opportunity to boo Jared Allen in person and gauge the progress of the Texans offensive line's pass protection.
Of course Texans fans remember all too well the last time the Texans and Vikings met.
Matt Schaub was knocked out by a knee seeking missile. Sage came in and looked okay, but redzone turnovers (the story of the year it seems) doomed them in a six point loss at the Metrodome.
The Texans will also play the Saints at home in Week 2 of the preseason while traveling to Kansas City and Tampa. Has there been a preseason yet when the Texans haven't played Tampa?
Speaking of the Tampa game, I can't think of a better example of why the regular season needs to be expanded by at least one game.
Having to go on a meaningless Week 4 preseason roadie only three days after the MNF game is a whole lot of non-value added, except of course for the last couple of players who secure roster spots and practice squad invites based on performance in that game.
