Something beautiful is happening on the web. Photo

Something foodie and fabulous is happening on the web. Food blogs have been cooking for a while, and some of the best food photography and innovating cooking is now being discussed online. If you're into sustainable eating, gourmet healthy, culinary botanicals or any other niche, there's a food blog out there for you.

My own interests lean toward food politics and sustainability, as well as any elevated healthful food. Over time I'll try to turn you on to the best of the web in a variety of genres, beginning with a couple sustainables and a couple culinary beauties. Please do share your favorites too.

First, food politics. Of course we know about Marion Nestle's blog, but here are a few more to check out:

  • Food Times - News site covering all aspects of food systems.
  • Food First - Site of the Institute of Food and Development Policy.
  • The Ethicurian - Good writers pondering ethical eating.
  • The Meatrix - Animated films against factory farms.

 Here are a couple of the clean, healthy culinary persuasion:

We're no slouches here at the Examiner, either. Check out Jamie Van Eaton for some innovative carb conscious recipes, chef Eric Burkett for clean delicious fare,and Gail Gedan Spencer, our Biggest Loser and weight loss expert, for recipes from that show and elsewhere.
