(Left) Formert Vice President Dick Cheney at the inagurationTuesday. (Right) Dr. Strangelove.

Outgoing Vice President Richard Cheney reportedly injured his back on Monday while packing to vacate his offices, consequently he arrived in a wheelchair at the inauguration of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Something about the scene of Cheney in a wheelchair struck me as familiar. Suddenly it came to me, and the similarity was both amusing and chilling.

Cheney reminded me of Dr. Strangelove, the megalomaniacal figure portrayed by Peter Sellers in the classic 1964 film by Stanley Kubrick.  Am I imagining this? View the video clip below (from the end of the film) and decide for yourself.
