Were you among the millions of viewers who saw the extraordinary opening skit for NBC's Saturday Night Live last weekend? In case you missed Tina Fey's already legendary portrayal of Gov. Sarah Palin, here it is again on Hulu, which offers superior video quality over YouTube.com (sorry, YouTube, but face facts).
Whether you are a Sarah Palin fan or not, you have to admire Tina Fey's fine impersonation. With as much (or perhaps less) preparation time than the real Sarah Palin had for the Charlie Gibson interview, Tina Fey mastered the look, gestures, smile, and voice of the Republican vice presidential nominee. At first glance, I thought SNL had actually snagged Palin for the season opener.
So click the "start" button, lean back at your computer, and prepare to laugh (adults only, please). This clearly ranks as one of the best, if not the best, political satires of the election season so far.
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, you better get your game on. SNL is back, and they take political comedy seriously.
