Feed your cat in a safe place out of the way of foot traffic. Be consistent where you feed your cat and they will know that is where feeding time will take place.
Never feed your cat in the bathroom or near their litter box for obvious reasons.
Cats enjoy being fed on a higher off-the-ground surface to feel safer.
Cats are not vegetarians. They need to be fed fish products mostly. They like their food served room temperature because the flavors of the food are more intense at room temperature. If you refrigerate the cat's food let it warm to room temperature before serving.
If kitty is happy, than everyone is happy.
