Recruited by Vanderbilt as an infielder (later relocated to the outfield) out of The Woodlands, Texas, the consistent Macias was the leadoff hitter for the ‘Dores with a .424 on base percentage (270 at bats) in 63 starts his senior year. He played all four years for the Commodores, earning his degree in 2008.
