Titans face Ravens on Saturday in divisional playoff game
As Tennessee sat at home and watched the wildcard games unfold over the weekend, it was not long before it became clear
that the Titans will face Baltimore in a divisional playoff game this Saturday in Nashville. The Ravens soundly beat Miami 27-9 on Sunday, as expected.
The Titans and Ravens have met several times before and since Ravens by nature like to pillage leftovers, you will see several players on their roster that once wore blue and red in Tennessee (see Derrick Mason, Samari Rolle, Lorenzo Neal and on the practice squad, Sean Conover).
The most memorable meeting between the Titans and Ravens
came in 2001 when Baltimore beat the Titans (in Nashville) in a divisional playoff game. Had Tennessee won that game, they could have returned to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.
If I were a fly on the wall in Jeff Fisher’s office right now, I’d probably see him with a slight grin on his face, watching film, twirling his mustache and jotting down his victory speech.
Whatever the outcome of Saturday’s contest, this is going to be a really fun game to watch. It’s going to be physical, flashy, emotional, low scoring, and intense and I think the Titans are going to end up on top of the dog pile at the end.
