Before we visit the Titans vs. Jets matcup on Sunday, I'd like to show you this. Head coach Jeff Fisher arrived at Titans practice this afternoon via parachute. He jumped along with some guys from the 101st Airborne Parachute team - the same guys expected to jump and land on LP Field before the Titans/Jets game Sunday.
Speaking of which...
The Jets visit LP Field on Sunday to take on the 10-0 Titans. When you match up one of the greatest quarterbacks (Brett Favereh [see “There’s Something About Mary”]) ever and a defense that makes offensive coordinators cry, there is sure to be thrills and delight that will remind you why you love football.
This will likely be one of the best matchups the Titans see all year – the Jets are 7-3 riding a four-game winning streak and their running back Thomas Jones has had back to back 100-yard rushing games.
Favre and Titans quarterback Kerry Collins are both coming off a fantastic couple of weeks, combining for eight touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Where the Titans may struggle on Sunday is on special teams. Their kickoff coverage isn’t great and the Jets have this kid, Leon Washington that ran back a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown last week against the Patriots.
As for the Titans, they are riding a 10-game winning streak and have actually won their last 13 regular-season games.   But the best news is that defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch is back from a groin injury that has sidelined him the last several weeks. KVB’s return will put a tremendous amount of pressure on Favre in the pocket.
This will be one of the toughest games for Tennessee this season, it may even go into overtime, but I think they can pull off a win.
On a side note, congratulations to the Vanderbilt Commodores for becoming bowl eligible for the first time in 26 years.
