It’s April 16th and there you have it.
Regardless of and perhaps in spite of Liberal “Tea-bagging” derision, the National Tea Party was an astounding success.
This is a Civil Rights movement, and it sees no political party, or affiliation. It’s about out of control government spending, and a vast number of Americans, far outweighing the tea-bagging community have come together to make what should be a crystal clear point to those in power. Stop spending. Repeal laws that have been passed with regard to this spending. If it doesn’t happen, there is a clearly very large population ready to do something about it.
Are you listening Portland?
To those of you who made snide if not borderline crude comments, those people who showed up today did so in support of your rights as well - The right to fight unreasonable taxation and a government that is no longer for the people. Deriding this movement shows where you stand. Right smack in the middle of those who think it’s ok to spend all of the earnings your grandchildren will ever make in their lifetimes. To say the least it is the height of irresponsibility. Well apparently there are more than a few responsible people left in America, including those who packed Pioneer Court House Square.
Change is coming.
You saw it here today in the heart of the most leftist community in America. Responsible people, people who support the constitution and the freedoms it brings us, outnumber those who believe they deserve a handout from everyone else.
Change is coming.
It started with boxes of tea in 1773.
It continues today, in the wake of thousands of people tossing their tea into the harbor of Liberty in her defense.
April 15, 2009, the Second American Revolution is begun.
UPDATE: Preliminary numbers Appear to be near 400,000 people attending. No matter what the main stream media says, this is a huge number. Certainly not insignificant. 3500 people in Portland, 400 in Beaverton, and a so far unreported number in Salem which was at the very least several hundred. There has so far not been a single report of any disturbances, there were no arrests made, and no acts of violence.
