A computer scientist thinks "robots can behave more ethically in the battlefield than humans currently can."
To put this in context, another computer wiz has said "there was 'a headlong rush' to develop battlefield robots that make their own decisions about when to attack," according to a report in the International Herald Tribune.
"This is not a 'Terminator'-style science fiction," says Noel Sharkey of the U of Sheffield in Britain, "but grim reality."
