Thousands of dogs and cats sit in Texas shelters and animal welfare organizations for days, weeks and sometimes months, waiting for new homes. The problem may be that few people think of animal shelters or rescue groups when they are ready to add a new pet to the family.
Did you know that only 15 percent of pet owners get their furry companions from an animal welfare organization? The other 85 percent acquire pets from breeders, pet stores or from friends. But animal shelters and rescue groups are full of puppies, kittens, purebred dogs and older pets that all need a second chance at a new home.
One of the benefits of adopting a pet is that every adoption really saves two lives--the animal being adopted, and the animal you’re making room for.
Choose to adopt and save two lives at once!
