According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Levi Leipheimer will not be ready to race the Tour of Utah, set to begin on August 18th. This means he will not ride the Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race on August 15. Lance Armstrong had mentioned in interviews prior to the Tour de France that Leipheimer would be joining him at Leadville.
Unfortunately, Leipheimer crashed heavily in the Tour, breaking his wrist and undergoing surgery to repair the damage.
Armstrong's participation in the Tour after a three year retirement has brought much focus onto cycling in the United States, and when he rides Leadville, that focus will be in the little town at 10,000 feet in the Colorado mountains.
Armstrong is currently third in the Tour, with just three stages left.
