Which is the game of Evo?
Why the president of Bolivia Evo Morales to hold the Peru responsible of all the ills of that country? Latest actions against the demand of Peru against Chile into the Court in the Hague to resolve a maritime dispute between those countries; and stays aside of the country which snatched the access to sea in the Pacific War in 1879, reveals much suspicion as well as lack of loyalty to a historic alliance which hurt Bolivia and Peru after facing Chile.
Evo Morales fills his mouth saying that demand maritime harm his country's intentions to reach an access to the sea, which they lost over 100 years ago, but to date there is not any real negotiation, and only just conversations with its neighbor Chile, which government trough some officials incites Bolivia against Peru in order to win the maritime claim.
Even have been reported hostilities against Peruvians citizens living in Bolivia in the city of El Alto under the pretext of political asylum in Peru in favor to three former Bolivian ministers, who are accused of homicide events occurred in 2003 during a social protest.
Peru demanded to Chile into the Court in The Hague in January 2008 and in March submitted its arguments on the fact that the maritime delimitation between the two countries is not fixed. Chile rejects this argument and believes that the limit was set in agreements signed in 1952 and 1954.
The maritime area in dispute is now considered by Bolivia as a possible space if they get a corridor to the sea through the border between Peru and Chile, so the demand of Peru ante The Hague looks as a threatened with a possible international ruling favorable to Peru.
But the truth is that these waters were never Bolivian and even the current border between Peru and Chile is located between two cities that previously were Peruvian. The sea that Bolivia claim surrounded the Antofagasta coast, a city which current belongs to Chile after the Pacific War (1879 to 1884).
It is well known that Evo Morales seeks to stay in his country's history as the president who returned to Bolivia the sea access and he don’t hesitate in to sign any treaty even it means jeopardizing the natural gas field for a thousand years or Chile or accept support from Iran o Hugo Chávez to any contingency.
