After losing David Alan Grier last week, Dancing with the Stars was down to 8 stars who had to perform either the Rumba or the Jive. They kicked off the show with Ty and Chelsea doing the Jive. This cowboy themed Jive failed to impress the judges leaving Ty with a score of 18 which is lower than their last 4 scores. Next up, Olympic Gymnast Shawn Johnson performed a beautiful and clean Rumba which got them a standing ovation as well as praises from the judges. Bruno called it angelic and innocent and in the end Shawn got a score of 26 which ties them with their score last week. No one is looking at Shawn as a threat, but it seems like she has a lot of hidden potential and may surprise us all in the end.

After a surprise visit from Warren Sapp, Lawrence's football buddy, Lawrence Taylor was psyched and full of energy for his Jive. The judges were happy to see a lighter side to the normally tense Lawrence giving them a score of 22, their best score to date. Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft tried to make up for her mistakes last week with a romantic Rumba. The judges found her to be exotic and flexible bringing her back up to a score of 27 and closer to the top of the pack. Her scores seem to mean she'll make it through for weeks to come, but I still made sure to vote for Melissa to keep her safe.

Lil' Kim tried to bring the spirit of the 1950s to the stage with her Jive. A few missteps and a few minor mistakes didn't hurt their score with Bruno or Carrie Ann but Len pointed out that it "lacked a lot of Jive" which got him booed. He was right if you ask me! While they were being judged, Lil' Kim seemed to be having some kind of wardrobe malfunction as the host stepped in front of her for a second so she could fix her shirt. It makes you wonder why they wear such skimpy outfits with all the fast moving dancing they are doing?? Their final score for the night was 28 which is still their highest score yet. Steve-O had to try to show his softer side in the Rumba even though he's a very silly guy most of the time. Lacey managed to pull it out of him but he was still quite stiff. In the end he scored low with the judges ending with a 16 which is about average for all their past scores. Will his fans keep him alive for another week?

Although Gilles Marini usually gets all the romantic dances, this time they assigned him the Jive so he could show a different side of him. Can I just say they picked a great song - Dance Dance by Fall Out Boy - they need more alternative music on this show!! Even though not a romantic dance, Gilles still managed to bring charm to the stage and got decent comments from the judges and a score of 26 which is lower than their last 4 scores, but still high enough to keep them safe - I hope! The show ended with real-life couple Julianne and Chuck Wicks. It shouldn't have been hard for them to be romantic in the Rumba, but she had to take him down memory lane to the place they had their first kiss to help him get into character. The judges thought it was not technically perfect, but had good elements. Len thought it was a bit too raunchy and they ended with a final score of 23 which puts them in the middle of the pack.
In the end Lil' Kim had the highest score of the evening with 28, followed by Melissa with 27. Steve-O and Ty Murray land at the bottom with scores of 16 and 18 respectively. However, as we've seen in the past your votes can change everything so be sure to vote for your favorites and tune in tomorrow to see who leaves.
