When we last left Survivor, Natalie and Russell (left) started making an alliance with Laura from the other team, in preparation for a merge.  With only 4 members left on Foa Foa, they knew they were outnumbered and knew that they would have to make deals as soon as a merge happens.  All 4 Foa Foa members are united currently and hope to take advantage of the separation going on in Galu.

Over at Galu, Laura and Shambo were butting heads and Shambo wanted to have a one-on-one with her but Laura (right) didn't want to walk saying they had nothing to work out.  So instead they started talking it out in front of everyone.  Shambo feels disrespected by Laura on a regular basis and Laura doesn't seem to see this at all.  The guys thought this whole fight made Laura look bad because "we know Shambo's crazy".

The Merge: The tribes arrived at the beach to find a treasure chest with information explaining their merge as well as some new buffs and items to make a new tribal flag.  The newly formed tribe celebrated over a feast of chicken, cheeses, fruits, veggies, desserts and more.  At their first opportunity, the original Foa Foa members began to divide and conquer.  Their plan: each Foa Foa member should make a friend that they can use to their advantage later.  The merged tribe went back to the Galu camp where all their prizes helped make it a more comfortable place then Foa Foa's camp.  The new tribe name: Aiga which means extended family.

Hidden Idols: Don't forget - both Russell and Erik have hidden immunity idols!  Russell went to Laura to show her the immunity idol and also promised her that he would give it to her if she keeps him around to the top seven.  Laura didn't believe him as far as she could throw him, but said that knowing he has the idol is a huge advantage for her.  She tried to put Russell in his place and tell him she is safer then he is - but this just turned Russell off so he went to try the same trick with Monica.  Monica was a lot less suspicious and said she was in with him to the final two.

Russell didn't believe her really but thought he planted the seeds to have Monica on his side in the future.  He wasn't done yet though!  He went off to try the same trick AGAIN but this time with John (left).  John seemed to be on board to get rid of Laura first and this seems to be the one alliance Russell plans to stick with.  Russell didn't show Shambo the idol, but he did easily get her on his side to eliminate Laura.

The Immunity Challenge: The first individual challenge of the season had the tribe playing tee-ball.  Wherever their ball landed would determine their score.  The twist: one woman and one man would win immunity and both would be safe tonight.  This challenge seemed awfully simplistic for survivor!  For the men: Dave scored 3 points; Jaison missed the course; Russell scored 4; Brett missed the course; Mick scored 2; Erik missed the course and John scored 5 to win immunity!  Luckily for Russell, John is supposed to be on his side.   For the women: Natalie missed the course; Monica scored 2; Kelly scored 3; Shambo missed the course and Laura scored 4 to win immunity and screwed up Russell's plans for tonight.

Making Deals: Now that Laura was immune, the tribe had to figure out who they should get rid of instead.  Russell wanted Monica to go instead but Shambo said that probably isn't going to happen.  Laura set out to get rid of Russell knowing that he had the idol.  Their plan was to vote for Jaison as backup.  However, John still wanted to get rid of Monica and it seemed like the old Galu tribe was split.  John believes getting rid of Monica is better than getting rid of the weak Foa Foa members.  Erik tried to sell Monica as the one that needs to go but this made Dave nervous.

The old Foa Foa members didn't like the way Erik (left) talked to them and didn't really trust him when he said they should vote for Monica, so they decided to turn the tables and vote for Erik instead.  Natalie worked to get the other girls on her side to get rid of Erik, but they seemed scared about whether or not this would work.  Before tribal council, the word got around and everyone seemed ready to get rid of Erik.  After all this whispering around the tribe, Russell said "this is the first time that I don't know nothing" and questioned whether or not he should use the idol.  If he uses it, would it be a waste?  If he didn't use it, would he be sent home?

Jaison SurvivorTribal Council: Erik said there was no way the old Foa Foa members could change the game at this point and he would be shocked if any of his Galu members switched sides.  Erik went on to attack Jaison (right) as if he was no good at this game and no good in life in general.  Jaison took offense to Erik's comments and told him he doesn't care what he thinks.  Jeff stuck to interviewing Erik, Russell and Jaison throughout the tribal council while the old Foa Foa members laughed at Erik's silly comments.  Russell made it clear that he wouldn't stop playing even if they were down 4 to 8.

The Votes: Before the votes were read, Russell stood up to play his immunity idol, just in case.  Any votes against Russell would not count tonight.  The votes came in: Jaison: 2, Erik: 7.  Erik's smug smile quickly faded as the votes were read!  This cocky man who thought he was totally running the game was just voted out in the biggest blindside of the season!  Too bad Russell wasted his immunity idol but he was probably smart to play it since he didn't know how things would go down tonight.  Everyone knew he had the idol anyway, so it is not like it would have kept him safe for much longer.  Meanwhile, Erik was sent home with the other immunity idol in his pocket!

Next Week: The old Galu may have gotten rid of one of their own tonight, but the previews show them dead set on getting rid of Russell next.  Will Russell weasel his way out of another one?  Tune in to CBS next Thursday to find out!
