'Real World / Road Rules Challenge' The Ruins: Ruining on Empty Recap

Last week Cohutta sent home Wes, who had been causing tons of drama since the season started.  The atmosphere without Wes around was sure to be different.  The girls now just want to figure out a way to get rid of his girlfriend Kelly Anne (left).  Meanwhile, Johnny and Evan start to butt heads as Johnny is worried Evan will screw him over in the end.  Since when did Evan become the leader of the Champions?

Veronica, Susie and Johana are the only three girls left on the Champions side which means they cannot stay out of the Ruins anymore.  Knowing that she is the least liked, Veronica (right) has no reason to be loyal to her team.

Nominations: This week the champions nominated Syrus, Derrick and Johnny, Veronica, Susie and Johana.  For the challengers it was Kelly Anne, Casey and Sarah, Cohutta, Dunbar and Brad.

The Challenge: Transport fruit from a big bowl over to their scale.  The challenge involved everyone at various spots including some who would throw it over the wall, others who would catch the flying fruit, and others that would pass it along in baskets.  Both teams had arguments while deciding what position to put people in.  It turns out the girls were correct because they couldn't throw over the wall very well which is what they tried to tell the boys.  The challengers were doing well and throwing big fruit over while the champions seemed focus on small fruit. 

In the midst of the challenge, the rain started pouring down making every part of the fruit transfer even harder.  Even though the challengers seemed to be doing well all along, the champions fruit basket weighed more and they won yet again.  

Deliberation: The guys think Syrus (left) is the "dead weight" on the champions team and they want to put him in to the ruins.  They told him it is for a physical reason that he's bigger, but he wasn't buying it.  The girls, on the other hand, were dead set on sending Veronica up against Kelly Anne.  Veronica wanted to go against Sarah but Johnny said that the girls have to vote... no fair!  The girls won the vote and sent Veronica against Kelly Anne.  The boys threw in Syrus but allowed him to pick who he goes against, so he choose Cohutta who had the most money in his bank account.

The Ruins: It was Syrus vs Cohutta and Veronica vs Kelly Anne in a challenge that depended a lot on their strength and their body weight.  Hanging upside-down, they would have to shimmy across a long wooden poll while their arms and legs were tied up.  Cohutta is definitely lighter, but Syrus is stronger.  Syrus flew down that pole but started to slow down at the end.  Cohutta had a chance to get close, and it all came down to who could unlock themselves first.  Syrus was busy trying to undo both locks when he really only needed to undo one hand.  Cohutta was taking it slow and steady while Syrus was panicking, leaving Cohutta to be the first to unlock himself and ring the bell.  Syrus was sent home, just like the champions wanted.

Veronica and Kelly Anne were up next doing the same challenge and with the same differences.  Kelly Anne was lighter but Veronica was probably stronger.  Veronica was a few pulls ahead of Kelly Anne from the beginning, but overall they were neck in neck.  It was taking them a lot longer to get across the pole and Kelly Anne was getting worn out.  However she kept trying and made it to the platform long before Veronica.  She was unlocked and ringing the bell while Veronica was still hanging there.  Another champion was eliminated tonight leaving the challengers feeling stronger than ever.

After the Ruins: There's always got to be some drama on this show outside of the game!  Tonight's drama at the end of the show started when Johnny put syrup and feathers on Derrick (left) while he slept.  This caused Derrick to react pretty strongly as he jumped out of bed and flipped out on Johnny.  He blamed his reaction on the fact that his family pictures were near the bed.  What made Johnny really mad was that no one else would take the blame when they were also involved in the idea.  It looks like Johnny is on the bottom of the pack on the champions team.  Can he keep his mouth shut and stay in the game until the end?  Tune in next week to find out!!
