Prosperity may not be just around the corner, but statistical evidence is mounting to suggest that the worst of this recession may soon be past.
Should we pop the champagne yet? As Mr. Kellner suggests, perhaps not, but there are reasons to be more optimistic as he has pointed out.
Keep in mind that you will NOT hear about stories or opinions like this from the media. Why you ask?
The media is watching their ranks retract every day. In every newsroom across America, employees are being shown the door. While that is of course sad, we must remember that the media has been declining for years. While the current economic decline has exacerbated their problems, print and broadcast television news have been on the decline for many years, and certainly before our economy began its struggles.
While I concur with Mr. Kellner that the worst may not be over, as I have stated many times before, both here and elsewhere, we all need to talk more about hope and optimism versus doom and gloom as otherwise, and either way, this will turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
