This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum.   It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.

Thus begins A Course in Miracles.  The Course is most commonly available as three books rolled into one, bound in a rich blue cover with gold writing.  The Text, the Workbook, and the Manual for Teachers all form a system that is a powerful change agent for the ego.  For those in New Thought, A Course in Miracles is one of the master text.  For those new to New Thought, A Course in Miracles is an ambitious place to begin your journey.

The Manual for Teachers provides a good place to begin if you are coming to the Course with fresh eyes and a fresh mind.  It clarifies terms and answers basic questions.  Because the text can be challenging reading, the Manual can serve as support for the paradigm-shifting passages of the text.  The workbook contains 365 exercises to practice to shift one's perceptions to more aligned with peace and love.

Many people have been studying the Course for decades.  Gerald Jamposky's Love is Letting Go of Fear, Marianne Williamson's A Return to Love, and Gary Renard's Disappearance of the Universe are all books that make the Course's contents more accessible.

Also, study groups available.  One such group meets at Unity North Atlanta on Sundays at 9:30 am on the upper level of the adminstration building.

There are many ways to approach A Course in Miracles.  The saying goes, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears."  The Course will make its presence known to those who are its students.

The main message of A Course in Miracles is that forgiveness sets people free.  The practice of forgiveness is meant to be practiced all the time.  The forgiveness the Course teaches is the kind of forgiveness practiced by Jesus and other spiritual masters.
