After decades of being a print magazine, Life has relaunched itself as Life.com, with more than 7 million photos from the Life and Getty Images photo collections. Unless I'm mistaken, this makes it the largest online photography site. As a curated site, photos from these collections include rarely seen and iconic photos from the mid-1800s right through today.
Furthermore, moree than 3,000 new photos from Getty Images award-winning photographers will be added to the site every day. In a truly immersive Web 2.0 experience, users of the site will be able to rate, email, share, purchase, license photos, all while exploring the world through some of the world’s greatest images.
Additional features on Life.com include:
This is shaping up to be a fantastic resource for inspiration and analysis. I wonder if they'll be able to include metadata like shutterspeeds and apertures, etc., in the future.
