You love skiing at Breckenridge. Why not learn about its history? This weekend, come to Breckenridge to celebrate the annual Kingdom Days Event. Back in 1859, a careless cartographer inadvertently excluded Breckenridge from U.S. maps. Until the mistake was discovered in 1936, the town was referred to as Colorado's Kingdom. Every year the town turns upside down, in tribute to Breckenridge's mining, saloon and brothel days. Watch the gunfights, pan for gold, take a free tour of the town or do something outrageous, like run in an outhouse race! Don't forget to get some free brthday cake at the newly-renovated Edwin Carter House, or party like its 2009 at the town party!
