Stand Up for Skateparks is a fundraising event that, via the Tony Hawk Foundation, helps empower at-risk youth through the creation of free, high-quality, public skateparks in low-income communities across the U.S.
It is returning for the sixth year to the Green Acres Estate in Beverly Hills this coming Sunday, October 11.
The family-oriented festival will feature games, food, auctions, A-list celebrities, musical performances, and a vert demo with Tony and a crew of top professional skaters and BMX riders on Tony's personal ramp.
Musical guest Blink-182 will perform in the Beverly Hills and Rancid will appear at a subsequent event at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort on November 7.
The Tony Hawk Foundation has, since its formation in 2002, awarded $2,887,500 to 448 communities nationwide, working with local officials and grassroots, community-based organizations, and designers and contractors with strong skatepark building experience.
The event's Benefit Committee include recognized names such as Andre Agassi, Lance Armstrong, Travis Barker, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Eisner, Mia Hamm, Mat Hoffman, Kathy Ireland, Chuck Liddell, George Maloof and Shaun White among others.
Activision's new video game Tony Hawk Ride is the title sponsor, and other supporters include UFC, Wynn Las Vegas Resort, Andaz, Ex Drinks, Dynacraft, and Galpin Auto Sports.
Individual tickets start at $350 and group packages are available for as much as $20,000. For more information, visit the Stand Up For Skateparks' website.
