Former Stanford football great Mark Bradford was released by the San Francisco 49ers today. Bradford was signed as a free agent during the offseason
The wide receiver saw very limited minutes this preseason, and when he did play it was mostly on special teams. He did not record a reception in three preseason games with the 49ers.
NFL teams need to trim their rosters to 75 by Tuesday and then to 53 by Saturday.
At Stanford Bradford finished his career 5th all-time in receptions and 4th all-time in receiving yards. His highlight of his career of course was the leaping catch in the end zone in the final minute to beat USC in 2007 as Stanford pulled off one of the greatest upsets of all-time.
