Stanford football 2010 recruiting update
Jones from Gainesville High School is a 4-star talent. He is 6-0, 174 pounds. Jones was widely recruited and said his final decision to come to Stanford was because that is where he would want to study if he was not able play football.
Turner comes from Bishop Gorman High School. He has a 3-star grade. The DE registers at 6-1 and 245 lbs. To play DE he’ll probably have to get bigger but since he is only a junior, there is plenty of time.
Turner joins his high school teammate
Evan Palelei who committed to Stanford the week before. Palelei is a 3-star middle linebacker measuring 6-2 and 235 pounds.
The same day that Palelei committed, Stanford got a yes from safety
Courtney Avery from Lexington High School in Lexington, OH. The 3-star safety is only 5-9 and 158 pounds and runs the 40 in 4.53. He’ll obviously need to grow into his body a little bit more.
Coach Jim Harbaugh is quietly putting together another nice recruiting class for 2010. While there are no 5-star players yet, Jones becomes the first 4-star player and he joins 5 3-star commitments. Of course all of these players are juniors so there is still plenty of recruiting left to be done.
The future continues to look bright on the farm.
