Stanford is receiving national attention for the first time in years. The Cardinal’s 51-42 win over Oregon has earned them a Top-25 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time since 2001.
The Cardinal just qualified by ranking 25th in the poll. It is the highest the program has been ranked since it finished 16th in the poll in 2001.
In the Examiner.com Top 25 poll Stanford has climbed to 24th in the nation.
In the USA Today/Harris Poll, the Cardinal rank second amongst “others receiving votes” putting them 27th nationally.
Stanford does not rank in the BCS poll which only lists the Top-25 and not others receiving votes.
