TV/Radio: The game will be broadcast by Fox Sports Net. It can be viewed in the Bay Area on Comcast Sports Net Bay Area. The radio broadcast will be carried on XTRA Sports 860 with the pregame show starting an hour before kickoff.
THE SERIES: Stanford leads the all-time series 43-28-1. The series dates back to 1900. The Ducks have won the last seven games and eight of the last nine games. Stanford’s last win was at Eugene in 2001 when the Cardinal upset then fifth ranked Oregon 49-42. It was the Ducks only loss that season.
LAST YEAR: Oregon came from behind to win 35-28 in Eugene. Anthony Kimble scored a three-yard touchdown to put the Cardinal up 28-27 with 2:18 to go. Oregon took an 11-play, 74-yard drive to score the game winning touchdown with 6-seconds left to go in the game.
STANFORD NOTES:
**Stanford needs one more win this season to be bowl eligible.
**Stanford is enjoying its best eight game start to a season at 5-3 since the 2001 season when the Cardinal opened 6-2.
**Stanford is 4-0 at home this season and 8-1 in its last nine home games.
**Stanford is 4-9 following bye weeks dating back to 2000. Last year the Cardinal thumped Washington State 58-0 after a bye week.
**Stanford ranks second in the Pac-10 in total offense at 435.2 yards per game. Stanford ranks second in the Pac-10 and 16th nationally in rushing offense at 205.6 yards per game.
**Toby Gerhart leads the Pac-10 and is seventh nationally in rushing yards at 124.2 yards per game. His 29 career rushing touchdowns are eight behind Stanford’s all-time leader “Touchdown” Tommy Vardell.
**Stanford is 6-22 in November and December dating back to 2002. Stanford has gone 1-3 during those months in each of the last four years.
**Stanford will honor the 1969 and 1999 football teams at halftime of the game. The 1969 squad led by John Ralston finished 19th nationally with a 7-2-1 record. The 1999 team led by Tyrone Willingham posted an 8-4 record and a Rose Bowl appearance.
OREGON NOTES:
**The Ducks come to Stanford ranked 7th in the country by the AP poll. Oregon is 8th in the USA Today/Coaches poll and 8th in the BCS poll.
**The Ducks 5-0 Pac-10 record is their best in conference start since 2000 and only the second time they have reached that level in 52 years.
**The Ducks seven game win streak is one shy of the school record which was achieved in 1933 and 2000.
**LaMichael James is averaging 137.6 yards rushing per game in Pac-10 play. His 7.4 yards per carry in those games are second only to quarterback Jason Masoli who is rushing for 7.5 yards per carry in Pac-10 games.
**The game features two of the top six kickoff returners in the nation. Oregon’s Kenjon Barner is fifth in the nation with a 35.36 yard average per return. Stanford’s Chris Owusu is 6th in the nation at 35.16 yards per return.
**Jason Masoli needs 54 rushing yards to eclipse Dennis Dixon in Oregon career rushing yards by a quarterback.
