Last time I checked, close does not count. I did not miss by much last week in a couple of games, but at the end of the day it tallied a VERY ugly 0-4. Just when I thought I was getting back into it as well. Well, I guess it can only get better from here.
Oregon -7 58.5 STANFORD
I was stunned when this line opened at just 5 points. I was thinking it was going to be double digits and I was thinking Stanford might be a nice dog at that rate. At 5 points it was hard not to like the Ducks. Now that it is up to a full touchdown? I can draw an outline for HOW Stanford can win. I just don’t know that they can get it done. Hopefully they at least keep it close. PICK: STANFORD
CAL -7 60.5 Oregon State
This is a no brainer for me. OSU is an underrated team. Their defense is good enough, their offense is very tough with the Rodgers boys. Cal did not look good on the road against a lesser ASU team. At home CAL may win, but if you will give me a touchdown, I will say thank you very much. PICK: OSU
ARIZONA -32 58.5 Washington State
Another very tough line here. I lost giving 28 with Notre Dame last week. I lost by two points. Arizona will win, they will win easily, but I have to think that WSU continues to improve and therefore will only lose by 30? PICK: WSU
UCLA -5.5 50 Washington
The big question is will Jake Locker play and if so how healthy will he be? UCLA finally found some offense in the second half of last week’s loss in Corvallis. If that is a sign that they can now score points, then I like UCLA’s chances to get their first Pac-10 win. But if Locker is healthy and UCLA reverts, it is trouble time for the Bruins. For now we’ll go with the home team. PICK: UCLA
Usc -10 40.5 ARIZONA STATE
An angry USC team on the road against an unexciting ASU team. I’ll get burned for buying into the hype but I just don’t see the Sun Devils keeping this one close. The Trojans now are on a mission to prove they deserve a BCS at-large bid. It starts in Tempe. PICK: USC
