Two former Stanford football players will be a part of the action when the new UFL debuts this week. The United Football League will open its inaugural season with four teams. The season begins tonight with the California Redwoods, based in San Francisco, playing at the Las Vegas Locomotives. On Saturday it will be the New York Sentinels at the Florida Tuskers.
Two former Cardinal players will take part in the inaugural season.
Wide Receiver Mark Bradford will play tonight for the Redwoods. Bradford signed with the UFL after being released by the San Francisco 49ers during training camp.
Defensive back David Lofton was drafted by the New York Sentinels and will be in action this weekend.
The UFL will play a seven week season that culminates with a Championship game on Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas.
