Birmingham, Alabama's very first off leash dog park will be opening on October 17, 2009 with a grand opening ceremony at 9 am.  Built within George Ward Park, the new Green Springs Dog Park will be a fully fenced area for all well behaved dogs to play, run, and be merry.  Bark for a Park, the non-profit responsible for the park, will still be required to repay the fencing expenses so all donations and item purchases will be greatly appreciated and will help to repay the City of Birmingham Public Works.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the grand opening ceremony with their well behaved dogs.  Bark for a Park will have items for purchase on hand, and Creative Dog Training will be offering short seminars about having the most fun and safe day at the park.

With all of the rain Birmingham has experienced lately, the ground is likely to be quite soggy so be sure to bring plenty of towels.
